STEVE SWENEY: Guitar

The youngest of four boys who were all schooled in piano, Steve began classical training at age 3 and took lessons from age 5 to 17. hookah’s soulful guitarist turned to the six string seeking reprieve from the stringent structure of piano training. "I started playing guitar at 10 because my older brother gave me his. I liked it because it wasn’t taught to me and I was free to do whatever," he says. Before hookah days, Steve played in a psychedelic cover band and still can be found jamming with a Columbus blues band when he’s not on the road.

Steve also plays with The Spikedrivers from time to time.
