Born in Coumbus and raised by redheads I was doomed from the start. Coming from a musical family didn't help. Music was encouraged if not required as the family had a music store known as Terry Pianos and Organs. I resisted until the age of 11 when the piano lessons started. I love my Aunt Maureen but could only hang with it long enough to learn to read some stuff.
It was then that my mom really screwed up. When I was twelve she thought it was a great idea to get me guitar for x-mas. It been all down hill from there. I blew off a lot of school to play guitar. Stay in guitar kids.
Starting out as a solo at The Black Forest Inn I learned real quick not to let your girlfriend bartend at the club you're playing. Trust me on this. Moving up to the Southberg every Wednesday gave the opportunity to meet and play with(in order of appearance) Dave Katz, Steve Frye, Steve Sweney and Cliff Starbuck. Of course this bred what became ekoostik hookah.
You know the rest right...?
John also plays with his band The John Mullins Band.
